What happens when you lose your way spiritually?
Anyone of us, at any time, can feel as if we have lost our way. It is like standing on a small, windy path in the woods that has suddenly become strewn with leaves. Standing in this chaos may feel challenging. To be honest, it can also feel a little frightening.
Unsure of whether to go forwards, backwards or sideways, we can be caught like a deer in the headlights. Then worry gets hold of us, 'what if I can't get back on the path? What about if I am lost forever?' Then, fearful of your future, you grapple with your own consciousness, trying feebly to get right back where you were before.
Mistake!
When the leaves cover the path, it is not some spiritual challenge to see how fast you can get rid of the leaves. No! Rather it is about seeing how capable you are of thinking,'well, I will just carry on walking and see where I end up then!' Because, in truth, you don't need a path to follow.
I don't believe that we have a cast iron blueprint to follow on our journeys. I believe that our path is a meandering adventure and, if we allow ourselves to float along it, we will probably find that we end up where we were supposed to be going anyway. A bit like a spiritual Sat Nav.
I am not immune. Despite many years of meditation and commitment to my spiritual path, I occasionally find myself trapped in my own thinking. But, spirit reminds me, one way or another, to get out of my own way and allow a higher guidance to step in with a good big torch.
No matter what is, or isn't, happening in your life right now, don't let it shape you. Take a deep breath, thank spirit for reminding you of your destiny and allow spirit to carry you there. You will get there much faster once you let go and get out of your own way.

It's been a long time
It's been almost three years since I posted on here! Don't ask me where three years have gone as I haven't exactly been sitting around doing nothing. But, sadly, we lost the venue for our Healing Horses clinics and this signified the end of a rather special era. The venue owner had to move and we now have nowhere to run the clinics. I accepted that this was meant to be, though admittedly was rather miffed at the time as I totally loved running the clinics from this venue. At first, I tried to find another suitable venue but they were either too far away from my home or were unsuitable.
A good venue is all about the energy of the place. I am sure those of you that are intuitive to energy know what I am talking about. I have often walked on to a yard that looks nice, but a prickle runs up my spine as I sense the history and ecology of the bricks and mortar and the people who inhabitate the place. Horses are in tune with this energy. Often, when experiencing behavioural issues, a horse will settle somewhere else, if you decide to move him. The horse does not care if it has a pristine indoor school or the best stables. Your horse cares about how much grass he can cram in his tummy and whether he has a couple of decent mates. He cares about how he is treated of course.
A bit like us really :-)
Reiki for horses is now available as a distance learning course. It is accredited by The Complementary Medical Association. Yes, of course I agree, it isn't the same as the fabulous two days clinics I ran for two years. We had so much fun and we worked with the most amazing horses and students. It was a magical time, a time I will always remember and treasure. Maybe one day, another venue will appear. I have no attachment to the outcome as I trust that we are always in the right place at the right time. Life is much easier if you have no great investment in how things turn out. Let's face it, how many times has your life turned upside down but ended up putting you in a much better, albeit unexpected place? That is life and I love that aspect of it. Learn to embrace change and your life becomes much easier for you... and or your horse.
